Day 10 and still going strong

Sorry for the lapse in the blog life was busy.  So Tara and I are still going strong.  We both feel great and cravings are gone, except for the occasional Pepsi yearning.

Tara and I both lost 4 pounds the first week, and we are excited because this diet (lifestyle change) doesn't seem that difficult.  Tara is being extremely creative with the dinners and we find ourselves looking at all the ingredients in everything we buy or cook.

OK tried to make vegan mayo for our artichokes, that tasted terrible, we will look for a new recipe.

We found a garlic artichoke sauce for our pizza, loved it.

We went out tonight, Gnocchi with Pesto sauce, we were a little suspicious of the pesto sauce, it was a creamy sauce which make us think there was cheese in it, but we are not sure and we decided not to ask after we already ate it.

So if you have a good vegan mayo recipe, please share.

Vegan and happy!  Only 32 days to go!

Day 5 Dinner was great

OK Tara wanted to cook Chinese Food tonight, we have never attempted this type of cooking.  We made vegan pot-stickers and spring rolls.  It was a lot of fun to try new recipes and cook together, the kitchen is crappy in this house, but hopefully we will be able to remodel in the near future.

I must say even my son Brad is full from the spring rolls, pot stickers and rice.  We are making these again, and next time we will cook a little chicken and pork for he boys.

Can't wait to cook that again, Tara found the recipes out of a vegan book, this diet is good for our bodies and our relationship.

By the way my weight was 233 this morning.  Now off to see Harry Potter.

Marianne thanks for the vegan chocolate idea, Tara is hoping that they make vegan Pepsi.

Also on a side note Tara and I feel like we have more energy than we have had in a few years, that might be because the wedding is over and our plates have been wiped pretty clean.  Anyways I will chalk it up to the diet.

Day 4 was pretty easy

Day 4 wasn't bad at all.  I haven't lost any weight at all, and I am not happy about that, but the good news is the my toilet issues are not issues anymore, so I can feel the pounds flush away.

Oatmeal for breakfast was  a smart choice, then leftover minestrone soup for lunch, and then Tara made noodles with olive oil and garlic, with baked asparagus fabulous.

I must say that this diet whoops lifestyle change is much easier than I ever thought, but I am only at day 4 and 38 more days to go.

I do miss soda, chocolate, that is about it right now.

Life is good as Alma would say "No Complaints"

First time out to eat

Veggie roll was great soy sauce and wasabi.  Miso soup and salad.  My salad was questionable, I think the dressing had Mayo, i think that was my first mistake of the journey.

Finished my son's soup also.  Very full, and very happy.

More soup tonight, can't wait.

Day 3 and the cravings are starting

What happened?  I am hungry, and I should be eating, in the office we have donuts, muffins and coffee.  Not exactly what I need.  I still weighed 235.0 and of course being a man I am upset I haven't lost 10 pounds yet, it has been two full days, what the heck is going on?

Well cantaloupe for breakfast tasted good but was not filling, tomorrow I need to add to the breakfast, maybe oatmeal will be a good filler, and I love oatmeal.

Last night straight popcorn with a little salt was great, I felt like I wasn't on a diet or lifestyle change, whatever it is called.

I do expect to drop 10 pounds by tomorrow.

I want chocolate.

Great Day 2

I feel a thousand times better than I did yesterday.  Tara made burritos tonight I porked (well beaned) on my burritos.  They were fabulous.  Tonight for dessert I can have either watermelon, cantaloupe, or popcorn.  I am leaning towards popcorn.

Last night was effects of the caffeine, so glad to be done with that.  My toughest part of the day is 3 to 5 o'clock.  Tomorrow I am taking my mom to sushi, I will be eating miso soup, salad and a vegi roll.  Sounds good.

My buddy Kim Metez wants me to talk about the different foods and how they make me feel.  I think that will come into play after the 42 days when I start adding the meat back.  If I feel this good the whole time this will be easy, but I have a feeling i will hit a huge wall.

All I can say is the beans were great, hopefully I will poop tomorrow because of them, my digestive system has shut down, hope you all wanted to know that.  Tara's did just the opposite of mine.

Always fun to share toilet stories.  Stay tuned.

Day 2 morning

Day 2 is starting out really good, I can't eat all my fruit i have no appetite.  Slept really well.  Lunch better be good today.  Maybe the pizza I couldn't finish last night.  All well lots of support on facebook from friends.  Tara doesn't seem to be struggling.  She is a rock that is why. OK i did weigh 235.0 this morning, so being a guy let's you lose weight easy.

To clarify my hangover is from soda products, Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, etc.  No coffee here, and on facebook all my old friends are talking about the way I used to cut weight in high school for wrestling, those were some bad habits.  It does work, but it ends up only being water weight.  As soon as you drink water it comes right back.

The left over pizza is really good, taste much better when you feel better.  Tara gave me some raw almonds to munch on today.  I will let you know how it is going tonight.
